What to Expect
WHAT TO EXPECT
AT OUR SERVICE YOU WILL BE GREETED BY A FAMILY OF CHRIST-LOVING BELIEVERS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE.
Bible classes are offered from 10:00 to 10:45 for all ages. The service lasts about an hour beginning at 11:00am with a song calling us to be seated for Announcements and updates to our Prayer Care list and upcoming events. We will have an Opening Prayer and a Scripture Reading followed by congregational acapella singing of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs of praise.
Our hearts will then focus on the Lord’s Supper with unleavened bread and grape juice. All visiting Christians are welcomed to share in this Communion. At this time we will pass a plate for members to give Contributions, which is a cheerful, free will Offering. Place your Visitor Card in this plate. You will hear an encouraging sermon from God’s Word with an invitation for Prayer or an opportunity to obey the Gospel in Baptism.
Please see our Minister after the service if you have questions or want to schedule a personal Bible study. We hope to see you soon!
ABOUT OUR COMMUNION
OUR COMMUNION IS ABOUT REMEMBERING & PROCLAIMING CHRIST TOGETHER!
In the Lord’s Supper we assemble on Sunday, the first day of the week (Acts 20:7), to share in the Body and Blood of Christ (Matt.26:26-29). To us as believers the unleavened Bread is His Body and the Cup or “fruit of the vine” speaks of His atoning blood. These are not mere symbols to us but spiritual signs of the presence of Jesus Christ with us.
When we give thanks in prayer, the Bread and Cup do not change. But what does change is our hearts toward Him and each other. In this fellowship we discern Him and our own identity as members of one another in the one loaf or Body of Christ (1Cor.10:15-17). This is central to our assembly and visiting Christians are welcome with solemn warnings for all (1Cor.11:17-26).
Here we proclaim the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us and the whole world (1Jn.2:2) until He returns in glory to raise the bodies of all who have died (Jn.5:28,29, 1Thes.4:16f) and glorify believers (Rom.8:18-25, 1Cor.15:42f).
